It was April 2021 when our team received another distressing case of a dog hit by a car. When we arrived at the scene, we found a weak and vulnerable dog lying on the ground, unable to move from the spot where he had been for days. It was heartbreaking to know that people had seen him but chose to leave him without any help, food, or water. However, what surprised us was that the dog tried to show his friendly nature when we approached him, indicating that he had once been someone’s pet.

After examining him, we found out that he had suffered some disc damage to his spine due to the accident. We took him back to our shelter to provide him with the necessary treatment, pain relief, and CBD oil to aid in his recovery. Despite all the love and care from our center, he was still scared of walking. His appetite was still good for an old dog, but not too old.

We were amazed to see him playing with us every day and taking him out under the sun to make him feel better. After some time, Charlie’s resilience paid off, and he found his new forever home where he loves to play outside. When we visited him after a year, we were pleasantly surprised that he still remembered us and approached us with love.

Charlie’s story is a reminder of how resilient and strong dogs can be, even in the face of adversity. It is a testament to their unwavering spirit and the power of love and care. We hope that Charlie’s story inspires people to be kinder to animals and give them the love and care they deserve.
