Last night, while browsing through my Facebook feed, I stumbled upon a heartbreaking photo of a skinny dog posted on a fan page in Peralta Ramos. Without wasting any time, I went to look for him. It was already nighttime, but I prayed to God that I would find this poor baby. And thank God, I did.

The moment I saw him, I was speechless. The photos posted on the fan page were nothing compared to the sight of him in person. He was terribly skinny and had scabies, and one of his legs was injured. It was clear that he had been abandoned and abused by his owner, who had imprisoned him in a dirty place. It was heart-wrenching.

Despite his condition, this adult dog was still friendly and lovable. I couldn’t help but hold back tears as I loaded him into my car. He had lived like this for many days, with no one to protect and take care of him. He had no name, so we decided to call him Dobby.

We immediately started the treatment for his skin and gave him antibiotics. He weighed only 14 kg, a skeleton of his former self. But slowly, day by day, Dobby started to transform. On day six, he got up and started walking more firmly. And he was so grateful for the kind words people sent him.

Day by day, Dobby’s transformation continued. On day 38, his hair started to grow, and he gained 4kg. By day 70, he had become the leader of the shelter, charming everyone with his friendly personality. And on day 120, he was unrecognizable from the skinny and sad dog I had found that fateful night. He had become a handsome and charming dog, beloved by everyone.

Dobby’s journey was not an easy one, but it was a heartwarming one. He went from being abandoned and abused to being loved and cherished. And he reminds us that every dog deserves a chance at a happy and fulfilling life.
