A Sunday morning was supposed to be a peaceful day for most people, but for us, it was an unhappy day. It was the day we discovered Gloria lying motionless on a burned lawn, abandoned and left for days with desperation and pain. She was like a mirror image of so many other abandoned dogs, left to suffer alone without any care or love.
As we approached her, we could see the pain in her eyes, and it was clear that she was in a critical condition. We knew we had to act fast, so we took her to the nearest vet in Tanabi, hoping that we weren’t too late. Gloria was almost in a coma and unable to move or do anything. She needed urgent medical attention, and we could only pray that she would get through this crisis.
At the vet’s clinic, Gloria was showered clean, and she started to eat and drink water. She wanted to raise her neck, but she was too weak to do it. She lay there helplessly, calling out to us, and we knew that we had to do everything in our power to help her.
The vet diagnosed her with a serious infection and recommended surgery. Gloria was a warrior, and she wanted to live. We knew that we had to do everything possible to make it happen. The surgery went well, and we were relieved that it was successful. It was discovered that inside of her, she had a stillbirth that had caused the infection, and it was treated accordingly.
After the surgery, Gloria was monitored closely and given all the care she needed. She ate well, and her legs didn’t seem to shake anymore. It was a good sign that she was on the road to recovery, and we were grateful for that.
However, we knew that Gloria’s journey to recovery was not going to be easy. She had been through a lot, and it was going to take time and effort for her to heal completely. She needed medication, rest, and a lot of love and attention.
We took her home, and for the next few weeks, we devoted all our time and energy to her. We changed her bandages regularly, administered her medication on time, and ensured that she had a balanced diet to aid her recovery. It was not easy, but we did it with love and care.
As days turned into weeks, Gloria started to show signs of improvement. She was more active, her appetite had increased, and she was responding positively to the medication. She was still weak, but her fighting spirit was inspiring. We were proud of her progress, and we knew that she was going to make it.
Gloria’s journey to recovery was not without its challenges. There were days when she would feel low and days when she would be in pain. But we never gave up on her, and she never gave up on herself. It was her determination and resilience that kept her going, and we were there to support her every step of the way.
Finally, after several weeks of care and attention, Gloria recovered fully. She was back to her old self, happy, and healthy. It was a miracle, and we were overjoyed. Gloria had gone from being an abandoned and neglected dog to a happy and healthy one. It was a testament to the power of love and care.
Gloria’s story is one of hope and resilience. It is a reminder that no matter how bad things may seem, there is always hope. It is also a reminder that every animal deserves to be loved and cared for, regardless of their circumstances. We are grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of Gloria’s journey to recovery, and we hope that her story inspires others to do the same for other animals in need.
